Auto Smoke Leak Detector Machine is a dedicated automotive EVAP system pipe leak detection tool that can quickly and accurately find out if a malfunction is caused by a pipe leak, even the smallest leaks can be detected.
AUTOOL SDT101 EVAP smoke machine delivers the standard 32-bar test pressure required for automotive EVAP systems by precisely regulating the pressure from an external air source. It can quickly output smoke in less than ten seconds, greatly improving your work efficiency. It is one of the necessary maintenance and inspection tools in your workshop.

⚠️Warm Tips
- Please note that the SDT series requires the connection of a 12V battery.
- When you use this smoke machine leak detector for the first time, fill it with 10-15ml oil. Please be careful NOT to beyond this range.
- This smoke machine does not built-in air pump. It needs to connect an extra air compressor.
- The testing liquid: both liquid paraffin and baby oil are OK.
- Fresh oil can be filled only when the smoke gets thin, and it can’t be filled over 15ml each time.
- Before filling fresh oil, please pour out the left oil in the detector & replace the detector oil regularly.
- During the process of leak detection, please keep away from smoke-sensitive parts.
- Do not run the detector for over 8 minutes continuously. It needs interval rest.
- The detector has an intelligent protector, if it exceeds the working limit, such as over 75 ℃, it will automatically turn off the power. In this case, please operate it later.
- The round part of this detector has temperature, please be careful to avoid burns.
- Please note that the SDT101 requires the connection of a 12V battery.

The EVAP System is responsible for capturing fuel vapors produced in your vehicle’s fuel system, storing them in a charcoal canister, and safely burning them off in the engine. This process helps reduce harmful emissions and improves overall air quality. Enhanced EVAP Systems, found on most vehicles built after 1996, can even perform self-tests for leaks and proper system operation.

How To Use The AUTOOL SDT101 Smoke Leak Detector?
- Step 1: Fill 10-15ml baby oil into the detector for the first time. Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.
- Step 2: Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected to the detector.
- Step 3: Connect the detector with the DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the detector starts to work.
- Step 4: Produces smoke in 10 seconds. Check the leak points. Please use a headlamp if necessary.

Ordered item online from the Germany site to be delivered to Ireland . Very reasonable pricing and delivery options. Arrived around 10 days or so and pleased with item. Smoke machine is a great addition and speedily identifies any leaks. Would use again .

This machine is a must-have for finding vacuum leaks. I spent weeks trying to find leaks by listening and spraying various fluids etc and could not find all of the leaks. This machine found hard-to-find leaks that I would have never discovered within minutes. It does everything that the expensive machines do at a fraction of the price. I can't speak for longevity or durability because just received the item, but it appears to be a solid, quality build. It is compact and can be used on basically any size vacuum hose or the larger air intake opening. You will need shop air for it to operate with standard industrial couplings. Any sized air compressor will work since it only requires around 5 psi input pressure. It has its own internal regulator so you don't have to regulate it with your compressor, although I would assume you wouldn't want to run too much pressure into it because maybe it would damage it over time. I set my compressor at its lowest setting which is around 5-10 psi. If you don't have a compressor and don't want to invest in one, this brand and other brands sell machines that cost a little more and generate their own air. Either way still much cheaper than the expensive machines.
