No, it won’t impact the calibration. The XC508 features a compensation function that automatically adjusts for minor floor unevenness (up to 5mm), ensuring precise results even on surfaces that are not perfectly level.

Does the Order in Which the Vehicle Is Adjusted Matter?

Start the proper wheel alignment at the rear. Establish a properly aligned geometric centerline, starting at the rear and moving forward, before making any other adjustments to the wheels. This process is known as thrust. Adjusting the thrust correctly is crucial because incorrect thrust can affect other measurements and lead to an improperly aligned vehicle.

How Does Caster, Camber, and Toe Affect Tire Wear?

While Caster may not be directly responsible for tire wear, it does have an effect on the overall driving feel. If the camber is not adjusted properly, the inside of the tire or outside of the tire can wear prematurely but this is typically a slow process. If the toe is off, there are very few indications (pulling, wandering, etc.) of being out of alignment but tire wear can happen very quickly. A comprehensive alignment will ensure even tire wear by properly setting the caster, camber, and toe to their factory-recommended specifications.

What Should Be the Distance Between the XC508 Wheel Aligner and the Car?

Depending on the vehicle model, the distance between the wheel aligner and the measuring vehicle can be adjusted to 1700mm – 2500mm.
