⚠️Warm Tips
- Please note that the SDT series requires the connection of a 12V battery.
- When you use this AUTOOL SDT205S Car Smoke Leak Detector for the first time, fill it with 10-15ml oil. Please be careful NOT to beyond this range.
- Before use, gently turn the knob to open the airflow regulator valve.
- The testing liquid: both liquid paraffin and baby oil are OK.
- Fresh oil can be filled with only when the smoke gets thin, and it can’t be filled over 15ml each time.
- Before filling fresh oil, please pour out the left oil in the detector & replace the detector oil regularly.
- During the process of leak detection, please keep away from smoke-sensitive parts.
- Do not run the detector for over 8 minutes continuously. It needs interval rest.
- The detector has an intelligent protector, if it exceeds the working limit, such as over 75 ℃, it will automatically turn off the power. In this case, please operate it later.
- The round part of this detector has temperature, please be careful to avoid burns.

How To Use The AUTOOL SDT205S Automotive Evap Smoke Machine?
- Step 1: Fill 10-15ml baby oil into the detector for the first time. Open the engine cover, and hang the detector in the cover.
- Step 2: Disconnect the pipe that needs to be connected to the detector.
- Step 3: Connect the detector with the DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the detector starts to work.
- Step 4: In about 30 seconds, the pipe will be filled with smoke. Check the leak points. Please use a headlamp if necessary.

What testing oil should be added into AUTOOL smoke leak detectors ?
If you can’t find a professional test oil, you can buy liquid paraffin or baby oil at your local store as test oil.
How much testing oil should be added to the auto smoke leak detector?
We suggest to add 10-20ml testing oil for the first trial. Please drain some testing oil out if you add too much accidentally. You can reuse the extra next time.
Can smoke leak detectors detect auto A/C system?
The auto A/C system operates at 1.7-3.0Mpa output pressure, while our smoke leak detectors generate only 0.1Mpa. So the smoke leak detector cannot directly test the auto A/C system for leaks. You can use our machine to perform segment-assisted testing for air-conditioning pipelines.
How to use a smoke leak detector to perform a segmental auxiliary test on the air conditioning pipeline?
First, pressurize the air-conditioning pipeline, then spray smoke and observe if the airflow blows it. If there is, it means that the location is a leak point, you can repair later.
Can smoke leak detectors detect EVAP system?

Previously I had bought a cheap smoke detector, one of those that looks like an aluminum can. Well it wasn’t a good buy, especially because you also need to set up an air compressor to use it. Worst of all I could never find the Evan leak with it. So I decided to buy a better smoke machine, especially one with a built in air pump. So I bought this and it worked perfectly. The built in pump made it easy to use
