What if the auto smoke machine doesn’t produce smoke?
When using the auto smoke machine, have you ever encountered issues such as the machine not producing smoke, heating element problems, failure to power on, or air not entering when connecting an external air supply? In fact, these faults are usually not caused by the device itself. By paying attention to some small details during use, you can easily avoid these issues. Even if the above faults have occurred, they can be quickly resolved with just a few simple steps. To help you quickly solve any issues during use, we’ve prepared a guide for common faults and solutions for the smoke machine for cars.
Precautions:
- It is recommended to add 10-15ml of smoke oil.
- If there is already oil inside the device before use the auto smoke machine, do not add more. Please empty the existing oil before adding new oil.
- Adding too much smoke oil will prevent the device from generating smoke, as there will be no space left for it inside.
- The SDT101 and SDT103 models do not have a built-in air pump. Please connect an external air supply for use.
- For models other than SDT101 and SDT103, no external air supply is needed. Simply connect to a 12V battery that is in good working condition.
- Connect the black clamp to the negative terminal.
- Connect the red clamp to the positive terminal.
- Ensure the battery provides a 12V voltage.
- Connect the smoke tube and adapter.
- After use, recover the remaining test oil.
When sealing the smoke tube with the provided adapter, ensure it is fully sealed.
Simply pour out the smoke oil.
common fualt:
There are three possible reasons why the auto smoke machine is not producing smoke: a damaged mainboard, excessive smoke oil, or a detached or burnt heating cotton.
1.Damaged Mainboard:This issue is commonly seen after the automotive smoke leak detector has been used for some time. The specific diagnostic steps are as follows:
a. Connect to a stable 12V power supply.
b. Check if the voltage is 12V.
c. If the voltage is not 12V, it is highly likely that the mainboard is damaged (as shown in the image).
2.Excessive Smoke Oil Added.
a. Although our auto smoke machine has a 20ml space, producing smoke also requires a certain amount of space. If more than 15ml of oil is added, there won’t be enough space for smoke production, causing the machine to fail to generate smoke.
b. It is recommended to add 10-15ml of smoke oil.
3.Heating Cotton Detached or Burnt
The working principle of our auto smoke machine is low-oxygen combustion. Without the heating cotton, the baby oil cannot be smoothly converted into smoke, which will result in the machine failing to produce smoke.
a. Please open your device and check if the heating cotton has detached. If you find it detached, please reinstall it properly.
b. If the heating cotton has not detached, it may be burnt. In this case, simply replace it with a new heating cotton to continue use (please refer to the image below).
1.Damaged Mainboard.
2.Detached or Burnt Heating Cotton.
These two situations are also major causes of the auto smoke machine failing to produce smoke. Therefore, the solutions can refer to the measures mentioned earlier in the fault 1 .
- Open the machine casing.
- Measure the input and output voltage of the voltage converter.
- If there is no output voltage, please contact us, and we will replace the voltage converter for you.
Both our SDT101 and SDT103 require an external air compressor for use. Some users have reported that air cannot enter when connecting an air compressor. Does this mean the machine is broken? Not at all.
It is very likely that the small ball inside the flowmeter is stuck, which prevents the smoke from being emitted. Users may assume that the air compressor is not supplying pressure.
If you encounter this issue, please follow the steps below, which usually resolve the problem.
1.Adjust the flowmeter to the maximum and check if the small black ball is at the highest ‘5’ position, as shown in the image:
- If the small ball is stuck at the lowest position and does not move, it means it is jammed. In this case, simply turn the machine upside down and use gravity to loosen the ball.
- You need to unscrew the flowmeter knob, place your hand over the knob opening, and press down to observe if the small ball inside moves up and down.
- If the flowmeter does not react, it means the small ball is stuck. Please refer to the solution for the previous issue.
- If the flowmeter is working fine, the issue may be a faulty air pump. Please contact us, and we will send you a brand-new air pump.
- Because the oil tank inside the equipment will also have residue, so the flow meter will be removed for cleaning more clean.
- It is better to clean it with alcohol.
- After cleaning, install it back.
